Job summary

Burns & McDonnell is seeking an experienced Grid Systems Solution Architect to lead grid modernization consulting for electric utility clients. The role focuses on SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, and DERMS within the Enterprise System & Integration team, delivering high-value solutions and strategic guidance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field preferred, applicable work experience may substitute.
• Minimum 7 years of enterprise/operations architecture strategies and integration services experience.
• Experience with electric utility clients implementing OMS, DMS, ADMS, AMI, and DER is preferred.
• Strong communication, leadership and project execution skills.

Responsibilities

• Architect, design, develop and implement SCADA, EMS, OMS, DMS, ADMS, and DERMS solutions for grid modernization programs.
• Lead commissioning, testing and deployment of grid management systems.
• Provide field support, troubleshooting, and project coordination for SCADA/EMS/OMS/DMS/DERMS deployments.
• Estimate, plan and manage program delivery, budgets and milestones.
• Support enterprise program management using Waterfall and Agile methodologies.
• Ensure project quality, safety compliance and alignment with business objectives.
• Serve as application/solution architect for integration and data mapping across systems.
• Coordinate cross‑functional design activities to meet end‑to‑end integration requirements.
