Job summary

Electric Power Engineers (EPE) in Austin, TX, is designing the grid of the future through advanced energy intelligence. The role focuses on designing and reviewing protection and control drawings for transmission and distribution substations, preparing specifications, and supporting project delivery.

You will prepare single-line and relay drawings, set files for SEL/GE relays, and contribute to renewable interconnection design.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical Engineering required.
• US PE license or ability to obtain within 6 months.
• Three years in protection and control drawings.
• Experience with renewable interconnection design.
• Proficiency with AutoCAD for SLDs.
• Knowledge of relay settings for SEL/GE.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review electrical drawings including single lines, three lines, relay logic drawings, relay DC schematics, breaker DC schematics, communication drawing, protection panel drawings, wiring block diagrams, DC panel drawings, and substation layouts.
• Prepare relay setting files for SEL, GE relays.
• Prepare generation interconnection drawings for conventional and renewable energy resources
• Prepare bill of material and design basis documents
• Prepare and review technical specification documents
• Process, generate and maintain data for engineering work
• Ensure timely completion of projects within quality and budget
• Manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Perform tasks per engineering practice and EPE procedures
• Autonomously execute assigned tasks
• Collaborate in multifunctional teams and address comments
• Identify training needs and raise to Engineering Manager
• Experience leveraging AI and automation tools to improve quality and productivity
• Perform other duties as assigned.
