Job summary

Brocket Hall Holding Limited in Hatfield, MA is seeking an experienced Senior Greenkeeper to lead daily course maintenance across multiple courses. You will manage spraying programs, contribute to capital improvement projects and uphold high standards of presentation.

The role requires hands-on leadership, training of staff, and a focus on safety and compliance with environmental guidelines. Applicants should have Level 3 Greenkeeping or equivalent and strong agronomy knowledge.

Qualifications

• Senior greenkeeping experience required.
• Level 3 qualification in Greenkeeping or Sports Turf Management or equivalent.
• Strong knowledge of agronomy, irrigation, drainage and course presentation.
• PA1/PA2/PA6 spraying qualifications are preferred.
• Proven ability to supervise, motivate and develop a team.
• Experience in course improvement or construction projects.
• Hands-on, organized and committed to high standards.
• Flexible to work early mornings, weekends and bank holidays.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate day-to-day course maintenance across all courses.
• Lead on pesticide, herbicide and fertiliser application planning and record-keeping.
• Oversee capital improvement projects (tee/green reconstructions, drainage, irrigation upgrades).
• Maintain high-spec greens, fairways and bunker systems to standards.
• Provide leadership on the ground and support team development.
• Train staff in turf care machinery operation, safety and upkeep.
• Inspect turf, monitor pests/diseases, and advise agronomic interventions.
• Ensure safe works following HSE policies.
• Act as Course Manager substitute when needed.
