The role requires strong greenhouse management, irrigation and fertilization expertise, plus an Illinois pesticide applicator license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or higher in horticulture, greenhouse management, or related field.
• Illinois Commercial Pesticide Applicator license required.
• Experience in greenhouse operations and plant growth regulation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily greenhouse operations and ensure a supply of experimental plants for scientists.
• Assist researchers in conducting high-quality experiments on growth regulators, biopesticides and soil health amendments.
• Lead meetings, allocate spaces for experiments and improve processes for efficiencies.
• Maintain and repair greenhouse equipment, environmental control and fertilization systems.
• Train greenhouse users and manage inventory, budgets and safety compliance.
