Job summary

Protingent Staffing is seeking a Graphite Specialist for onsite work in Oak Brook, IL. You will design mechanical systems using graphite, ensure ASME compliance, and produce specifications, drawings, and test plans.

The ideal candidate has a bachelor's or master's in mechanical engineering with 5+ years of graphite-related design, experience with ANSYS or Abaqus, and strong writing and communication skills. This role may involve government work and is restricted to U.S.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in mechanical system design, including graphite applications.
• Strong understanding of ASME codes and standards.
• Experience in structural analysis tools (e.g., ANSYS, Abaqus) required.
• Excellent problem-solving, technical writing, and communication skills.
• Experience with project and contract management is preferred.
• PE license or progress toward licensure is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Design mechanical systems incorporating graphite materials, ensuring performance and durability.
• Ensure compliance with ASME codes and industry standards.
• Develop technical specifications, design documentation, and drawings.
• Participate in supplier evaluations and material procurement for graphite components.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate graphite components into designs.
• Conduct structural analysis, material compatibility evaluations, and failure analyses.
• Support testing, validation, and commissioning activities involving graphite systems.
