Job summary

Samsung Electronics America is seeking a world-class graphics driver developer to build the GPU driver for a brand new Samsung GPU architecture at the Samsung Austin Research and Development Center. You will implement OpenGL ES and Vulkan features, optimize real-time rendering, and collaborate with compiler and GPU architecture teams to drive SW/HW interfaces.

The role emphasizes power and performance, with close interaction across SW/HW teams and a focus on delivering high-performance graphics

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, or closely related field.
• Experience with GPU APIs such as Vulkan, OpenGL, OpenCL, ANGLE.
• Experience in low-level performance profiling and optimization.
• Strong programming skills in C/C++ and Python.

Responsibilities

• Develop a world-class graphics driver targeting brand new Samsung GPU architecture.
• Implement standard features and extensions for APIs like OpenGL ES and Vulkan.
• Participate in driver infrastructure architecture with a focus on power and performance requirements.
• Develop driver techniques that optimize real-time rendering pipelines and make them run faster.
• Work closely with the compiler team to exploit a framework that encapsulates driver/compiler interaction and compiler strategies.
• Collaborate with GPU architects to drive GPU features support from SW and review SW/HW interfaces.
