Job summary

Department of Homeland Security, FEMA Region Six, is seeking a supervisor to oversee Hazard Mitigation programs, provide leadership to Grant Specialists, and coordinate federal grant processes across engineering and floodplain requirements. The role includes ensuring accurate reporting, program compliance, and staff development.

The position requires experience managing complex grant programs, offering technical assistance, and guiding a team through CFR-based compliance and program execution,

Qualifications

  • Overseeing or managing the administration of grant awards to resolve management, financial, and/or administrative issues.
  • Providing technical assistance in support of Federal and State grants management processes.
  • Leading a team performing work related to disaster assistance programs (i.e. grants management programs, conducting analysis of grants operations and/or compliance reviews).

Responsibilities

  • Provide supervisory oversight to leadership staff that administer the Hazard Mitigation supporting Region Six with the execution of mitigation programs while leading, coaching, and mentoring junior to senior Grant Specialists.
  • Review and evaluate grant applications to determine awardee eligibility and coordinate Engineering, Floodplain, and other programmatic requirements in the CFR.
  • Review regional grants procedures, policies, and process flows to ensure effectiveness and efficiency of program operations.
  • Conduct analysis of Federal Financial Reports/Program Progress Reports for completeness and accuracy.
