Job summary

FEMA is seeking a Grants Management Specialist for Region Six, Mitigation Division. The role focuses on implementing and managing Hazard Mitigation Assistance grants, providing technical assistance, and ensuring compliance across the grants lifecycle.

The ideal candidate brings experience in grants administration, policy guidance, and collaboration with state and local governments. Regular emergency management responsibilities may include recall deployments and irregular hours.

Qualifications

• One full year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-11 in the federal service.
• Experience reviewing and processing grant applications for federal/state/local programs.
• Experience monitoring grants and performing grant closeouts.

Responsibilities

• Review and evaluate HMA grant sub applications through all phases of the grants cycle.
• Provide technical assistance on mitigation and HMA policy guidance.
• Work with state, tribal, local governments to ensure application completeness and eligibility.
• Deploy with little or no notice for emergency operations as required.
