Job summary

Downtown Women’s Center is seeking a Finance Manager to oversee grants and contracts financial management, budget forecasting, and reporting for government and private funding sources. You will lead the Finance & Grants team, ensuring GAAP compliance and timely funder reporting.

The role requires strong nonprofit finance experience, expertise with Uniform Guidance, and a proven ability to lead a high-performing team while balancing strategic priorities and day-to-day operations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field required.
• Master's Degree preferred.
• CPA, CGMA, MBA, or similar credential preferred.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in nonprofit finance leadership.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive nonprofit finance, grants management, budgeting, and reporting.
• Significant experience with government grants and contracts, including federal/state/county/city funding.
• Experience with Uniform Guidance (OMB 2 CFR 200).
• Experience preparing and reviewing grant budgets, funder invoices, and financial reports.
• Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
• Experience with ERP accounting systems (Sage Intacct preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee all financial management activities related to grants and contracts, ensuring funder requirements and policy compliance.
• Coordinate with Development, Program, and Executive Leadership on budgets and forecasts.
• Monitor grant expenditures against budgets and identify compliance risks.
• Lead grant revenue recognition and grant accounting per GAAP.
• Support month-end close and financial reporting with grant analysis.
• Oversee audit preparations and funder monitoring reviews.
• Develop monitoring readiness tools and SOPs for grant compliance.
• Lead training on grant requirements across departments.
