Job summary

UC San Diego MASLD Research Center searches for a Senior Grant Writer to develop and write grant proposals in line with fundraising goals and strategic planning. You will gather data, interpret complex information, and coordinate with collaborators and PI-driven studies.

Responsibilities include preparing clinical research protocols, manuscripts, progress reports, and ensuring accurate, compelling materials for sponsors while maintaining publication standards and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• Seven years of related experience, education/training, OR a Bachelor's degree in related area plus three years.
• Thorough knowledge of writing, grammar, syntax, style, and punctuation.
• Editorial style and publication guidelines knowledge.
• Strong research and fact verification skills.
• Experience writing scientific grant proposals independently.
• Ability to write engaging copy for diverse audiences and audiences.
• Knowledge of location mission, goals, and policies.
• Proficiency with publishing, image handling, and web production.
• Interpersonal communication and collaboration skills.
• Analytical and critical thinking skills.
• Attention to detail, project management and organization.
• Maintain confidentiality.
• Experience in data collection, management and analysis with web tools, relational databases, statistical software and spreadsheets.

Responsibilities

• Research, develop and write grant proposals aligned with fundraising goals.
• Coordinate data collection, interpret complex data and communicate with collaborators.
• Support development of clinical research protocols and manuscripts.
• Prepare progress reports and facilitate communications with stakeholders.
• Edit, format and coordinate printed and online materials for archiving.
• Assist with dissemination of findings and grant-related communications.
