Job summary

St. Francis House in Boston, MA is seeking a Senior Grant Writer to research, develop and write compelling grant proposals ensuring funding for Day Shelter, Workforce Development, Behavioral Health, Housing Stabilization and related programs.

The role includes identifying new opportunities, preparing budgets, submitting timely reports, and collaborating with Finance, Programs, Evaluation and HR teams to reflect SFH impact in grant narratives.

Qualifications

• Excellent written and verbal communication tailored to funders.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Proficiency in English and ability to work in a fast-paced team.
• Experience with donor management CRM systems.

Responsibilities

• Researches, develops, writes and submits proposals, program budgets, letters, reports and other materials as necessary for grant submissions.
• Develops and fosters relationships with private and corporate giving officers, program managers, and trustees to build partnerships.
• Assists with writing and submitting proposals for local, state, and federal contracts as assigned.
• Ensures all grant submissions and reports are accurate and timely.
• Maintains understanding of organizational funding gaps and aligns proposals with SFH priorities.
• Researches and identifies prospective funding opportunities aligning with SFH programs.
• Collaborates with Sr. Grant Writer to ensure timely submissions and manage funder portfolios.
• Tracks and documents deadlines, opportunities, and funder communications in donor database.
