Children’s Law Center of California is seeking a Senior Grant Accountant to join our dynamic Finance team. The role oversees post-award financial administration of federal, state, local, and private grants, builds Excel allocation models, and delivers monthly financial and deliverable packages to program directors and leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of progressive nonprofit accounting, with 3+ years in grant/fund accounting.
• Strong US GAAP knowledge and funding/revenue recognition for restricted grants.
• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT or similar ERP systems.
• Advanced Excel skills and ability to build allocation schedules.

Responsibilities

• Oversee post-award financial administration for multiple grant types, ensuring GAAP and donor restrictions.
• Develop and maintain Excel allocation models to track expenses and allocations.
• Perform monthly variance analyses and align tracking models to the General Ledger.
• Prioritize restricted funding and manage grant deliverables across departments.
• Prepare monthly grant reports and an executive close package for leadership.
• Ensure timely invoicing, renewals, and budget-to-actual analyses for program directors.
