Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Senior Grant Accountant (Non-Research) to manage the full financial lifecycle of awarded funds, from setup through reporting and closeout.

This role ensures compliance with funder regulations and federal standards, such as OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200). It involves budgeting with program managers, monthly spending reviews, and audits support.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance.
  • 5-8 years of general accounting experience and 2-5 years of related work experience.
  • Advanced skills with Microsoft applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access) and other web-based applications.
  • Preferred: Working knowledge of Workday Financial Accounting Systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with program managers to develop grant budget during application process and timely bill the funding agencies monthly based on actual expenditure.
  • Monitor grant spending monthly with program managers to ensure accurate spend-down and validate payroll and other expenses.
  • Record journal entries for grants and contracts and reconcile grant receivable and temporarily restricted net assets monthly.
  • Ensure compliance for all grants in accordance with regulatory requirements.
  • Compile information for UDS, FFR, and other grant reporting per federal requirements and timely filing of federal grant reports.
  • Prepare and compile information for UFR and Single Audit under the federal Uniform Guidance.
  • Coordinate with HR, program managers, and Finance to ensure timely submission of time and effort reports and proper allocation of expenses.
  • Review P&L for grant cost centers monthly to ensure revenue matches expenses and perform payroll/non-payroll reclasses.
  • Provide grant budget and forecast information for operations and clinical budget in annual budget process and quarterly forecast.

This role ensures that all grant activities comply with funder regulations, internal policies, and federal standards, such as OMB Uniform Guidance (2 CFR 200).Job Description:Essential Duties & Responsibilities may include some or all of the following:1. Work closely with program managers to develop grant budget during application process and timely bill the funding agencies monthly based on the actual expenditure once obtaining the grants.2. Monitor the grant spending, work with program managers on a monthly basis to ensure accurate and timely spend-down of the grants, validate the matching payroll and other expenses for the grants, and ensure accurate reporting of the grants as requested by the federal and state agencies and other grantors.3. Record journal entries for grants and contracts and reconcile grant receivable and temporary restricted net assets on a monthly basis.4. Ensure compliance for all grants in accordance with regulatory requirements.5. Compile information for UDS, FFR, and other grant reporting in accordance with federal reporting requirements, ensure timely filing of federal grant reports.6. Prepare and compile information for UFR and Single Audit under the federal Uniform Guidance.7. May produce complex documents, perform analysis and maintain databases.Preferred Qualifications:Working knowledge of Workday Financial Accounting Systems is a plus.Pay Range:$85,000.00 USD – $115,000.00 USDThe pay range listed for this position is the annual base salary range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time.
