Job summary

Addison Group is partnering with a construction client to hire a General Superintendent for grading and paving in Tolleson, AZ. The role emphasizes hands-on supervision of field crews, safety, and quality across active projects.

The ideal candidate will have 3+ years supervising grading and paving, strong plan-reading skills, and the ability to coordinate scheduling, equipment, and materials. Travel and a flexible schedule are required.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of experience supervising grading and paving operations.
• 2+ years in a Superintendent or comparable field leadership role.
• Experience with both grading and paving.
• Strong understanding of construction-site operations and crew supervision.
• Ability to read and understand construction plans and specifications.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record over the past 3 years.
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
• Outdoor work in hot weather and physically demanding conditions.
• Ability to travel as needed and maintain a flexible work schedule.
• Strong communication, organization, and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Direct daily activities for grading and paving crews and ensure work is completed according to project requirements.
• Lead field teams of approximately 10–15 employees while maintaining productivity and accountability.
• Monitor job-site operations to support high standards for workmanship, safety, and efficiency.
• Partner with management on project scheduling, resource allocation, and day-to-day operational planning.
• Review construction drawings, plans, specifications, and project requirements.
• Coordinate the availability and use of materials, machinery, and other field resources.
• Help identify and resolve field issues that could affect project timelines or productivity.
• Maintain a safe work environment and ensure employees follow applicable safety procedures.
• Adjust daily operations based on weather conditions, project priorities, and changing schedules.
