Job summary

Base-2 Solutions in Bethesda, MD is seeking a senior systems engineer to design, develop, and optimize GPU clusters for enterprise AI mission systems, focusing on Linux-based architectures, hardware, and high-speed networking in a secure DoD environment.

You will work with AI/ML engineers to integrate GPUs with Linux, optimize drivers, analyze performance, and build tooling with Bash, Python, Ansible, Puppet, and Salt while maintaining documentation and compliance with DoD security standards.

Qualifications

• Active TS/SCI clearance with ability to obtain a CI Polygraph.
• Ten years of experience in the field with related expertise.
• Experience managing NVIDIA GPU data center platforms (DGX, HGX, H200, H100, L4s).
• Strong Linux knowledge across RHEL, Ubuntu, Oracle, and Rocky.
• DoD 8570.11 IAT Level II certification required.

Responsibilities

• Design, configure, and maintain GPU clusters.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to optimize architectures for performance, power, and features.
• Integrate GPUs with Linux-based systems in collaboration with AI/ML engineers.
• Optimize GPU drivers for compatibility, reliability, and performance.
• Analyze GPU performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve efficiency across hardware and software.
