Job summary

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior System Software Engineer to join the GPU Performance and Power Management Software team. You will architect production software for P-states and DVFS, and develop real-time controllers to optimize GPU performance, power, and thermals in demanding data-center workloads.

Qualifications

  • BS or MS in CS/CE/EE or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years in system software, embedded firmware, or hardware-related production software.
  • Strong C programming skills with low-level software experience.
  • Deep understanding of operating-system fundamentals, device-driver architecture, embedded or real-time software.
  • Experience interpreting hardware specifications and developing software interfaces for registers and telemetry.
  • Strong understanding of computer architecture and hardware-software interactions.
  • Proven ability to independently debug complex problems across multiple software and hardware layers.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills across organizational and geographic boundaries.

Responsibilities

  • Architect, build, implement, and debug GPU power- and performance-management software (P-states, DVFS).
  • Develop real-time controllers and policies that optimize GPU performance, power, and thermals.
  • Drive features across full product lifecycle from requirements to production support.
  • Collaborate with GPU architects and hardware designers on interfaces and power-management capabilities.
  • Analyze interactions among workloads, clocks, voltages, and system policies.
  • Lead investigation of power, performance, stability, and reliability issues across firmware, drivers, and platform software.
  • Develop validation strategies and automation for functional correctness and robustness.
  • Create architecture and interface specifications for new power-management features.
  • Partner with distributed teams across architecture, ASIC, firmware, driver, validation, and data-center systems.
