Job summary

General Motors Sunnyvale, CA, is seeking a Senior ML Accelerator Engineer to design and optimize CUDA kernels for on-vehicle AI workloads. You’ll work on kernel development, ML runtime integration and performance tuning for real-time perception and planning.

Qualifications

• BS/MS/PhD in CS or related field.
• Strong CUDA and C++ skills.
• Experience benchmarking GPU kernels.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, benchmark and iterate on CUDA-based kernels and operators to maximize performance of on-vehicle inference workloads.
• Build and improve tooling to profile, debug and validate CUDA kernels and accelerator-backend code across the AV stack.
• Partner with AI Solutions, Compilers and Architecture to translate model requirements into kernel roadmaps and plans.
• Collaborate with compiler, performance tooling, runtime and deployment teams to deliver reusable, high-performance libraries.
• Maintain high engineering standards and review processes for GPU kernel development and performance engineering.
• Manage relationships with internal customers to ensure kernels meet real-world needs.
