Samsung Electronics America, Inc. is seeking a Staff GPU Design Verification Engineer – Formal Verification at the Samsung Austin Research and Development Center.

This role focuses on block and subsystem level formal verification for next-generation mobile GPUs, collaborating with architecture and RTL to ensure functional correctness and power gating alignment. You will architect verification environments, write properties, and drive convergence using industry-standard formal tools, with

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science/Engineering, or 4+ years with a Master’s, or 2+ years with a Ph.D.
• 5+ years of hands-on experience in GPU/CPU or semiconductor design verification with formal verification focus.
• Solid understanding of computer architecture and graphics pipelines.
• Strong programming and scripting skills in Python, Perl, C/C++ or equivalent.
• Proficiency in SystemVerilog and SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA).
• Experience with industry-standard formal verification EDA tools and methodologies.
• Ability to analyze formal failures and drive debug to closure.
• Excellent cross-team collaboration in a fast-paced, global environment.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to block- and subsystem-level formal verification for next-generation mobile GPU.
• Define verification goals, properties, and coverage objectives; establish sign-off criteria.
• Develop assertions, properties, and formal models using standard tools.
• Verify corner cases, state-space behaviors, and safety properties beyond simulation.
• Analyze formal failures and perform root-cause tracing with RTL/architecture teams.
• Contribute to formal verification environment development and documentation.
