Job summary

Intuitive is seeking a Senior Systems GPU Engineer – AI & Robotics in Sunnyvale, CA, onsite, to advance high-performance robotic AI and MLE products. You will collaborate with research, SW/HW/ML, regulatory, and clinical teams to translate early ML ideas into scalable medical device solutions, including edge and cloud deployments.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field.
• 6+ years embedded systems software development with real-time, high-performance embodied AI.
• Proficient in C, C++, Python, and Bash; experience with real-time multi-threaded apps.
• Experience with QNX, Yocto, interprocess communication, and hardware interfaces.
• Experience with ML models and frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow).
• Robotics experience: motion control, perception, sensor fusion, path planning.

Responsibilities

• GPU performance optimization using profiling, tracing, and debugging tools.
• Design and optimize interfaces between robotic subsystems for edge, firmware, OS, hardware and cloud.
• Develop Linux kernel internals, device drivers, memory management and container runtimes.
• Lead complex embodied intelligence projects and define strategic robotics roadmaps.
• Collaborate with motion controls, perception and hardware teams to integrate models on edge platforms.
• Balance feasibility with schedules; drive deep-dive implementation as product matures.
