Job summary

Lightning AI is seeking an experienced Senior GPU & Compute Infrastructure Engineer to join the Infrastructure Engineering team. You will bring up, validate, and operate large-scale bare-metal compute infrastructure with a focus on GPU-enabled systems.

You will own system diagnostics, develop automation, and ensure clusters are ready for demanding AI/ML workloads. This role may be remote in the U.S. or hybrid at different hubs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure or systems engineering experience in production environments.
• Strong Linux expertise and practical experience with GPU-enabled systems.
• Hands-on scripting/programming in Python for automation.
• Experience with bare-metal provisioning and system bring-up workflows.
• Ability to debug complex issues across hardware, OS, and drivers.

Responsibilities

• Own and evolve image management, deployment, and validation across bare-metal infrastructure.
• Run and maintain test clusters for system validation and bring-up.
• Validate firmware, drivers, and OS images on compute/GPU systems.
• Support hardware qualification for next-generation platforms.
• Develop and maintain automation for provisioning, validation, and bring-up.
• Collaborate with hardware, data center, and ML teams to meet workload requirements.
