Job summary

AMD in Austin is seeking a Principal AI Cluster Performance Validation Engineer to optimize GPU clusters and RDMA networks. You will drive performance tuning, profiling, and validation across hardware and software stacks, shaping insights for senior leadership.

The role requires hands-on debugging of HW/FW in clustered environments, plus scripting for automation and rigorous benchmarking. A strong background in GPU architectures and HPC systems is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in optimizing the performance of GPU clusters.
• RDMA network configuration, troubleshooting and performance tuning.
• Strong understanding of GPU architectures, parallel computing concepts, and network protocols.

Responsibilities

• Scalability Testing: Evaluate scalability of GPU clusters across workloads and configurations (RoCE).
• Benchmarking and Analysis: Develop and execute benchmarking strategies to assess performance and bottlenecks.
• Cluster Network & Performance Optimization: Improve RDMA throughput, latency, and congestion handling.
• Performance Profiling: Use profiling tools to identify bottlenecks and propose improvements.
• Performance Tuning: Implement protocol enhancements, load-balancing and parallel processing optimizations.
• Documentation: Create detailed reports of analysis, tuning efforts and outcomes.
• Collaboration: Work with hardware, software, and system architects to integrate improvements.
• Continuous Learning: Stay updated on GPU architectures and HPC trends.
