Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a Travel Consultant to support the U.S. Military and Government team, delivering seamless travel management for federal clients. You’ll advise on domestic and international travel, work with Sabre GDS, and ensure compliance with travel policies while providing outstanding customer service to defense travelers.

This full-time role requires U.S. citizenship and government eligibility checks.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience as a corporate travel consultant.
• Native GDS expertise (Sabre).
• Professional communication (written and verbal).
• Attention to detail.
• Passion for excellence in client service, including proactive anticipation of needs.
• Ability to protect traveler information.
• Strong understanding of the travel industry background.
• Resolving customer issues quickly and independently / with supplier.
• Teamwork and openness to feedback.
• Military experience/certifications may substitute for some requirements.

Responsibilities

• Advise and arrange travel for corporate business customers (both individuals and groups).
• Conduct analysis and research on travel options, and proactively anticipate traveler needs to sell additional services.
• Arrange and book domestic and international business travel, in a variety of complexity, for air, road, rail, and accommodations.
• Utilize Global Distribution Systems (GDS) Sabre.
• Ensure compliance with customers’ travel policies and regulatory requirements.
• Use positive telephone service techniques and handle special requests.
• Collaborate with the team to coach, mentor, and provide feedback to improve service levels.
