Job summary

GSCPA seeks a finance leader to supervise all accounting activities for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government. You will ensure adherence to GAAP and GASB standards while guiding the team in policy compliance and financial reporting.

The role requires a Bachelor's in accounting with government accounting experience, supervisory skills, and a valid driver's license. Master’s degree is preferred; CPA/CGFM/CPFO credentials may be required for advanced duties.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting is required.
• Must have three years of governmental accounting experience.
• Two years of supervisory experience required.
• Valid driver's license required.
• Certifications: CPA, CGFM, or CPFO preferred in some cases.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and administer all accounting activities for the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and GASB standards and applicable policies.
• Monitor and analyze financial transactions and prepare/review financial reports and statements.
• Perform additional accounting tasks as assigned.
