Job summary

Comcast is seeking a Lead Backend Engineer with deep Golang expertise to design and build scalable, cloud-native services. You will solve critical platform problems, make key technical decisions, mentor engineers, and drive successful delivery.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of software engineering experience with a strong backend focus.
• 4-6+ years of experience leading technical projects and delivering production systems.
• Expert-level proficiency in Golang.
• Strong experience with: AWS, Kubernetes, Terraform, Microservices and distributed systems, REST APIs, CI/CD and DevOps practices, SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience designing and operating large-scale distributed systems and microservices.
• Strong understanding of concurrency, performance optimization, resiliency patterns, and service reliability.
• Proven track record of mentoring and developing engineers.

Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development, and delivery of distributed backend systems using Golang.
• Define architecture, technical standards, and best practices across the team.
• Build and operate cloud-native applications on AWS.
• Deploy and manage services using Kubernetes and Terraform.
• Drive technical planning, estimation, and execution of large-scale initiatives.
• Partner with product, architecture, and engineering teams to deliver business outcomes.
• Mentor junior engineers through code reviews, design discussions, and technical coaching.
• Ensure high standards for reliability, scalability, security, and operational excellence.
