Job summary

Rackspace Technology is seeking an expert Software Developer IV to join the PVC Product Software Engineering team. You will design and evolve the core RackAI platform, pairing Go and Kubernetes expertise with architectural leadership. This is a hands-on senior role that shapes direction while coding alongside the team.

You’ll champion AI-first development, embed AI tooling across the lifecycle, and drive platform reliability, security, and performance at scale.

Qualifications

Expert-level Go development and distributed systems experience.
Deep Kubernetes expertise including architecture and operations.
Proven track record delivering production-grade cloud-native apps.
Strong command of RESTful APIs and event-driven systems.
Hands-on with Docker and container runtimes; CI/CD and secure coding.

Responsibilities

Architect and build the RackAI platform with scalable backend services in Go.
Develop Kubernetes-native applications using controller-runtime and Kubebuilder.
Define architecture for growth, reliability, and security.
Create APIs, automation frameworks, and platform capabilities for AI-powered products.
Promote cloud-native best practices: observability, resiliency, and operations readiness.
Lead technical reviews and mentor engineers toward higher standards.
