Job summary

NBCUniversal is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Content Delivery Engineering team in New York City. You will deliver high-performance Go software powering VOD, live events, and linear streaming for Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax, and NOW/WOW across multiple regions.

Collaborate with cross-geo teams, drive reliable architectures, and work with SRE on availability and performance. Hybrid schedule with benefits and a competitive salary range.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, including Go (preferred) or Python.
• Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments using containers and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows and Git-based pipelines.
• Familiarity with Site Reliability Engineering concepts (SLIs/SLOs, auto-scaling)
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to collaborate with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software systems primarily in Go for large-scale streaming.
• Build reliable services supporting VOD, live events, linear channels, and dynamic ad insertion.
• Conduct thoughtful code reviews to maintain high quality and architecture standards.
• Partner with SRE to ensure highly available, resilient, and fault-tolerant systems across regions.
• Use observability tools to detect issues and drive data-driven root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to multi-CDN strategies and content routing for global performance.
• Collaborate with engineers across the US, UK, EU, and Africa and document decisions clearly.
• Influence technical direction and best practices as a senior member of the team.
