Job summary

NBCUniversal Intl. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Content Delivery Engineering team in New York City.

You will help deliver VOD, live events, and linear streaming experiences to Peacock, SkyShowtime, Showmax, and NOW/WOW across multiple regions. You will design, build, and operate high-performance services in Go (preferred) or Python, collaborating with SRE and other cross-geo teams to ensure reliability, scale, and observability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent professional experience.
• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience (Go preferred) or Python.
• Experience deploying and operating applications in cloud environments using containers and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes.
• Strong understanding of CI/CD workflows and Git-based repositories.
• Practical experience with SRE concepts: SLIs/SLOs, auto-scaling, distributed systems reliability, incident response.
• Familiarity with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
• Excellent written and verbal communication, and collaboration with distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance software systems—primarily in Go—delivering video content at scale.
• Build reliable services supporting VOD, live events, linear channels, and dynamic ad insertion workflows.
• Participate in code reviews to promote quality and good architectural patterns.
• Partner with SRE to ensure highly available, resilient systems across regions.
• Use observability tooling to detect issues and drive root-cause analysis.
• Contribute to multi-CDN strategies and content routing across global services.
• Collaborate with engineers in US/UK/EU/Africa and document decisions clearly.
• Influence technical direction and best practices as a senior team member.
