Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for distributed systems to join the Satellite Communications Group in Austin. You will design, build, and operate large-scale services enabling satellite connectivity for iPhone and Watch Ultra, spanning provisioning, monitoring, deployment, and platform delivery.

You will contribute to architecture, cloud infrastructure as code, and automation in a fast-moving, no-ops environment while focusing on reliability and scalability of critical services.

Qualifications

• 5+ years software engineering or DevOps experience
• Proficient in at least one of Python, Go, Rust, C++
• Experience with large-scale distributed systems (replication, high availability)
• Strong Linux/UNIX administration, configuration, monitoring
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure) identity & credentials
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Puppet, Flux, Ansible)
• Experience with containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
• Experience with zero-downtime deployments, job scheduling, event-based messaging
• Able to learn new technologies quickly
• Strong operational and troubleshooting skills

Responsibilities

• Develop and operate distributed systems and orchestration with a focus on scale and reliability
• Design architecture for cloud infrastructure and end-to-end services
• Build and run provisioning, monitoring, and deployment platforms
• Work with no-ops culture to automate and maintain critical services
• Collaborate across teams to ship resilient satellite connectivity services
