Upwind Security is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team and work on a cross-platform security product. The role blends backend development, systems programming, and OS integrations, with emphasis on reliability, performance, and security.

You will design production services in Go, build scalable backend features, and collaborate on architecture while tackling complex production challenges in a security-focused cloud platform.

Qualifications

• : Strong production experience with Go and backend systems.
• : Strong understanding of concurrency and multithreaded programming.
• : Experience building backend systems and APIs.
• : Strong knowledge of PostgreSQL and MySQL.
• : Good understanding of SQL, transactions, and indexes.
• : Experience with long-running services, agents, or system software.
• : Understanding of OS concepts: processes, IPC, permissions, filesystems, networking.
• : Experience with Windows, macOS or Linux system APIs.
• : Designing reliable distributed systems: retries, idempotency, persistence.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop production services and components in Go.
• Build reliable and scalable backend functionality.
• Work with operating-system APIs and cross-platform components.
• Design and maintain APIs and communication between services.
• Work with relational databases and persistent storage.
• Troubleshoot complex production and system-level issues.
• Participate in architecture and technical design decisions.
• Write maintainable, well-tested production code.
