Nuro in Mountain View, CA is seeking a Backend Engineer with strong Go skills to design and operate distributed systems powering our ride‑hailing and vehicle dispatch platform. You’ll own core services from planning to launch and collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver reliable real‑time experiences.

You’ll work on Go‑based backend services for ride planning, vehicle matching, and real‑time trip execution, integrate partner APIs, and build telemetry pipelines that surface live vehicle

Qualifications

• 4+ years backend engineering experience with Go.
• Experience designing and operating distributed systems where reliability isn’t optional.
• End-to-end product ownership—from requirements through launch and iteration.
• Solid hands-on experience with GCP (CloudSQL, BigQuery, Redis, or equivalent).
• A track record of technical leadership: setting the bar, mentoring others, making hard trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Backend services for ride planning, vehicle matching, and real-time trip execution.
• Partner API integrations (Uber and others) routing ride requests to Nuro vehicles.
• Telemetry pipelines surfacing live vehicle state to riders and operations.
