Job summary

Benchstack Ai is seeking a Lead Backend Software Engineer to play a pivotal role in a growing NYC engineering team. This position offers the chance to own the architecture and delivery of complex systems, while mentoring fellow engineers and driving impactful features from initial concept to production.

The ideal candidate will have 6–8+ years of software engineering experience, strong skills in Go, and a background in high-growth startups. The role emphasizes high autonomy and direct access to executive leadership.

Qualifications

• 6–8+ years of software engineering experience.
• Strong proficiency in Go (Golang), as it is the core codebase.
• Deep experience in building distributed systems at scale.
• Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, AWS or GCP, Redis, and Temporal.
• Proven track record of shipping robust systems in a high-growth startup environment.
• Willingness to work in-person in NYC.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture and delivery of complex distributed systems.
