Job summary

KODA Technologies in Huntsville, AL, seeks a GNC Navigation Engineer to develop, simulate, analyze, and test navigation algorithms. Active Secret Clearance is required for this on-site, full-time role.

You will work within a skilled GNC team to fuse sensor data from IMUs, star trackers, cameras, and altimeters, and to design algorithms that meet stringent accuracy and environmental constraints. Excellent communication and collaboration skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Post secondary STEM degree with 5-10+ years of relevant experience.
• 2+ years of experience with Kalman filters, particle filters, or factor graphs.
• Experience with IMUs in a multi-sensor navigation system.
• Knowledge of navigation architectures in flight software.
• Proficient in C++.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to present technical information to non-technical customers.

Responsibilities

• Modeling, simulation, and analysis of a navigation system as part of a broader system simulation.
• Lead design of new algorithms or transition existing ones to enable accurate navigation software.
• Fuse simulated and real-world sensor inputs from IMUs, star trackers, cameras, altimeters, and other aiding sensors.
• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary engineers to design navigation systems considering accuracy, environment, and cost.
• Present techniques, solutions, and results to the GNC team.
