Castelion Corporation in Rio Rancho, NM is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer (Navigation) to develop advanced navigation solutions for high-speed flight vehicles. You will design, analyze, implement, and validate multi-sensor navigation algorithms in a fast-paced, hardware-driven environment.

You will work with avionics and flight software teams, perform EKF‑based fusion, and contribute to HIL testing and real-time embedded systems. A strong background in estimation theory is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of navigation algorithm development and validation for aerospace or high‑performance dynamic systems.
• Strong background in estimation theory with EKF and multi‑sensor fusion.
• Experience with INS and integration with GNSS or star trackers.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop navigation algorithms for high‑speed flight vehicles including inertial navigation and alt‑nav methods.
• Develop and implement multi‑sensor fusion architectures using EKF and related estimation techniques.
• Integrate data from IMUs, star trackers, GNSS (when available), and other onboard sensors for robust state estimation.
• Collaborate with avionics, flight sciences, and flight software teams for real‑time embedded integration.
• Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate performance under GPS‑denied conditions.
• Support hardware‑in‑the‑loop and flight testing, translating results into system improvements.
• Characterize sensor performance, biases, and inform filter design and tuning.
• Develop tools and frameworks for navigation development, verification, and validation.
• Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in navigation and estimation.
• Partner with program leadership on technical trades aligned with mission success.
