Redwire Defense Tech is seeking a Senior Staff GNC/Flight Systems Engineer to shape long-term guidance, navigation, and control systems across the company’s UAS lines. You will set technical direction, review critical designs, and mentor engineers to push state-of-the-art flight-control capabilities.

You will define roadmaps, lead complex issue resolution across dynamics, sensors, and avionics, and drive cross-program alignment for modeling and software integration while interfacing with

Competenze

• leadership of system-level GNC architecture across multiple aircraft or programs
• experience guiding senior engineers and owning technical direction
• deep experience with high-fidelity modeling and simulation for flight controls
• expert-level control-system design: classical, modern, nonlinear, robust
• sensor-fusion and estimation theory with fault-tolerant navigation
• proficient MATLAB/Simulink, C/C++, Python, and embedded systems
• ability to define technical standards across programs
• strong communication to influence executives and cross-functional teams

Mansioni

• Serve as technical authority for GNC and flight-control architectures across programs
• Define long-term GNC roadmap, shaping system architecture and modeling
• Lead resolution of high-risk flight issues spanning dynamics, sensors, and avionics
• Drive cross-program alignment for modeling, controllers, and software integration
• Oversee development of advanced control techniques (adaptive control, MPC, nonlinear/robust)
• Lead system-level reviews and technical gate reviews for major decisions
• Mentor senior engineers and build GNC capability across the org
• Support advanced flight-test initiatives and airframe bring-up
• Define benchmarking, performance metrics, and data-driven evaluation
• Participate in strategic planning with leadership on resourcing and tech priorities
• Represent GNC direction to executives, customers, and external stakeholders
