Job summary

Reliable Robotics is seeking a Senior Flight Navigation Engineer to join the Guidance, Navigation and Control Team. You will contribute to navigation system design, implementation and testing, enabling the integration of uncrewed aircraft into the National Airspace System.

You will define navigation requirements, evaluate sensor solutions, develop sensor models, implement state estimation in flight software, and establish test methods to meet regulatory and safety standards; travel up to 20% for

Qualifications

  • MS or PhD level degree required or equivalent in a relevant engineering field.
  • Strong technical expertise in Kalman filtering, GNSS or inertial navigation.
  • Experience developing and testing navigation algorithms in aerospace contexts.
  • Proficiency with C/C++ flight software and Python data reduction & analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Define navigation system requirements in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Analyze, source, and select sensor solutions for navigation system.
  • Develop sensor models in simulation for evaluation of navigation system.
  • Implement state estimation algorithms in flight software.
  • Establish test methods to ensure compliance with requirements and standards.
  • Evaluate navigation system performance via simulation, hardware-in-the-loop, and flight tests.
