Job summary

Castelion Corporation is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to develop navigation solutions for long-range hypersonic strike vehicles. You will design, analyze, implement, and validate multi-sensor navigation algorithms, including star-tracker-based navigation, in a hardware-driven environment.

You will work with avionics, flight sciences, and software teams, integrate INS with external aiding sources, and perform modeling, simulation, and HIL testing to ensure robust state estimation in GPS-denied

Qualifications

5+ years of navigation algorithm development, analysis, and validation in aerospace or dynamic systems.
Strong background in estimation theory and multi-sensor fusion.
Experience with INS integration and external aiding sources (GNSS, star trackers).

Responsibilities

Design and develop navigation algorithms for high-speed flight vehicles, including inertial navigation and alt-nav methods.
Develop and implement multi-sensor fusion architectures using EKF and related estimation techniques.
Integrate data from IMUs, star trackers, GNSS (when available) and other sensors for robust state estimation.
Collaborate with avionics, flight sciences, and flight software teams to deploy navigation algorithms in real-time embedded systems.
Conduct modeling, simulation, and analysis to evaluate navigation performance and robustness in GPS-denied conditions.
Support hardware-in-the-loop testing and flight testing to drive system-level improvements.
Characterize sensor performance and inform filter design and tuning.
Develop tools/frameworks for navigation algorithm development, verification, and validation.
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to best practices in navigation and estimation.
