Job summary

CHAOS Industries seeks a Principal GNC Systems Engineer to own the guidance, navigation, and control architecture for the Massed Modular Aircraft program. You will lead multi‑aircraft simulation design, verification, and deployment to ensure safe, scalable flight control across dense airspace.

You should have 15+ years of GNC/controls experience, a strong flight control background, and hands-on experience with 6DOF multi‑aircraft simulations, HIL, and flight test correlation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical, Electrical, or related field; MS/PhD preferred in GNC/controls.
• 15+ years of guidance, navigation, and control engineering experience for aircraft or UAS.
• Hands-on experience developing and using 6DOF simulations involving multiple interacting aircraft.

Responsibilities

• Own the GNC architecture for the MMA air vehicle, including flight control laws and navigation/state estimation.
• Design and develop control laws and guidance algorithms for the platform's envelope and mass‑production constraints.
• Define sensor fusion and state estimation approaches for single- and multi‑aircraft operations.
• Develop and maintain 6DOF simulation environments modeling multiple MMA aircraft and interactions.
• Lead V&V activities, including HIL, ground tests, and correlation with flight data.
