Job summary

Cummings Aerospace in Arlington, VA is seeking a Senior Guidance, Navigation & Control (GNC) Engineer for a full-time exempt role. You will support modeling and simulation tool development, perform GNC trade studies, and assess hypersonic system performance, reporting to the Program Manager.

Responsibilities include applying GNC methods, developing models and algorithms for simulations, leading technical product delivery, and supporting hardware-in-the-loop tests while ensuring policy compliance

Qualifications

• BS degree in Aerospace or Electrical Engineering; MS preferred.
• 12+ years of DoD GNC design, development, and test experience.
• Experience modeling GNC systems and missile trade studies.
• Proficient in C and C++ programming.
• Strong written and verbal communication; able to work solo or in teams.
• Ability to adapt to changing requirements and schedules.

Responsibilities

• Apply methods in design, analysis, modeling, and simulation of GNC systems.
• Develop GNC models and algorithms for aerospace vehicle simulations.
• Conduct GNC trade studies to support design and performance.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop test bed development and execution.
• Document and present results to leads, management, and customers.
• Lead development and on-time delivery of technical products.
• Assist with program management tasks including staffing and scheduling.
• Ensure compliance with corporate policies.
