Job summary

AeroVironment is seeking a Sr. Principal GNC Engineer to lead the architecture, testing, and integration of next generation unmanned air vehicles. The role combines GN&C, flight testing, PCB design, and software with cross‑disciplinary responsibilities across the engineering organization.

The candidate will drive technical decisions, manage projects, and mentor teams while ensuring success in fast‑paced, mission‑critical programs. ITAR/EAR compliance and U.S. citizenship are required.

Qualifications

• Advanced engineering degree required or equivalent experience.
• 15+ years in aircraft design, GN&C, flight testing, systems engineering, and program management.
• Experience leading development of complex air vehicle systems and flight control software/hardware.

Responsibilities

• Oversees flight control system design, development, and validation for A/V products.
• Defines system architecture and flows requirements to design teams.
• Leads technical proposals, project estimates, and risk management.
• Mentors engineers and communicates progress to stakeholders.
• Coordinates flight test activities and integration with avionic systems.
