Job summary

Tiberius Aerospace is seeking a Senior GNC Navigation Engineer to translate GNC algorithms into production-grade real-time embedded flight software for the program. You will own the SIL/HIL infrastructure and verify performance end-to-end from algorithm to silicon, working closely with controls and navigation engineers.

Qualifications

• B.S./M.S. in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering required or preferred.
• 8+ years of embedded flight software development in defense or aerospace contexts.
• Expert-level C/C++ in real-time embedded environments (RTOS/bare-metal).
• Experience implementing Kalman filter variants or flight control laws in production code.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink Model-Based Design with production C code generation.
• Experience developing or operating SIL/HIL test infrastructure for GNC.
• U.S. citizen and eligible to obtain/maintain U.S. government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Implement GNC algorithms (navigation filter, guidance, autopilot) in embedded C/C++ for flight computer.
• Define and own GNC flight software architecture including task scheduling, sensor interfaces, and fault detection.
• Develop and maintain SIL environment for closed-loop testing with 6-DOF plant model.
• Design and build HIL test bench with GPS/IMU stimulation and data recording.
• Enforce coding standards (MISRA-C) and establish unit test coverage.
• Define GNC software requirements and verify with V&V plans.
• Collaborate with navigation and controls engineers on algorithm translation and numerical stability.
• Characterize real-time performance: CPU budget, worst-case timing, latency.
