Chipton-Ross is seeking a Guidance Navigation & Control Engineer 4 for an opportunity in Seal Beach, CA. The role focuses on designing and verifying GN&C algorithms for spacecraft and related platforms, integrating with testbeds and flight software.

Candidates should have a BS in engineering and 5+ years of relevant experience, proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink, and programming skills in C/C++ or Python. The position is full-time, on-site in Seal Beach with domestic travel up to 5%.

Qualifications

• BS in engineering or related field; 5+ years of related work experience.
• Experience with aircraft, missile, spacecraft, autonomous platforms or similar vehicles.
• Proficiency with MATLAB and Simulink.
• Proficiency developing GN&C algorithms, models and simulations.
• Experience with C/C++, Python or C#.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and verify GN&C algorithms for spacecraft and related platforms.
• Develop and maintain 6 DOF dynamics simulations and analysis tools.
• Implement and validate GN&C flight software and integrate with testbeds and avionics.
• Apply astrodynamics and flight mechanics to mission design and trajectory optimization.
• Develop guidance laws and autonomy tools for on-orbit and atmospheric operations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and communicate technical tradeoffs.
• Identify inefficiencies and implement reusable tools and automations.
