Job summary

Venus Aerospace is seeking a Senior GNC Engineer to design, build, and flight test revolutionary propulsion technology in Houston. You will lead GN&C system architecture, develop control laws, and work with flight software, avionics, and HITL teams to ensure flight-ready systems.

The role emphasizes systems thinking, rigorous testing, and mentoring early-career engineers, with on-site work in Houston and ITAR compliance requirements.

Qualifications

• Degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 5+ years GN&C experience.
• 3+ years developing control systems in aerospace/aviation.
• Experience verifying GN&C algorithms via simulation and flight test.
• Knowledge of flight control and navigation sensor systems; modeling & analysis.
• Strong testing culture and data-driven design.

Responsibilities

• Architect, analyze, and implement GN&C system for flight test vehicles.
• Develop control laws and algorithms from design through flight testing and qualification.
• Lead development of GN&C analysis tools and techniques.
• Collaborate with Range Flight Safety and Flight Ops for flight approvals.
• Develop flight test plans and analyze test data.
• Define simulations/tools for analysis and verification.
• Support hardware-in-the-loop testing and flight readiness activities.
