Job summary

UL Solutions' Retail and Consumer Products team seeks a Lead Auditor to perform GMP quality audits across manufacturing sites, farms, and processing plants. You will assess facilities against GMP, quality systems, and food safety standards, report with precision, and mentor junior auditors.

The role requires strong English communication, ability to lead audits, and travel up to 70–80% annually. A relevant degree and professional credentials are preferred. Chicago area-based position.

Qualifications

• University degree required; preferred Graduate Science Degree in Food, Pharma, Engineering, Technology, or similar.
• Must hold scope-specific professional credentials such as GFSI auditor credential; CQA, RABQSA, IRCA, RAC, CP GMP Professional Certification (CPGP).
• Four years of related work experience in manufacturing or retail sectors in technical, supply chain, retail operations, quality assurance or food safety, or equivalent experience in EH/PH.

Responsibilities

• Lead GMP quality audits across manufacturing sites, farms, processing plants and related sites.
• Assess and report against UL, industry schemes, and client audit protocols.
• Mentor trainees and auditors; provide expert guidance in the field.
• Lead complex audits with advanced analysis and detailed reporting in English.
• Complete audit agendas within 14 calendar days; reports within 4 calendar days.
• Travel up to 70–80% annually.
