Job summary
DLA Piper in Washington, DC seeks a senior attorney for its National Security Global Trade practice. The ideal candidate will have 4–7 years of relevant experience in international trade compliance, export controls, economic sanctions, or a closely related practice area. This is a non-partner track position in our Washington, DC office. JD required; DC Bar admission; strong writing and regulatory analysis skills. Hybrid in-office work.
Qualifications
Minimum of 4–7 years of international trade compliance experience.
Strong knowledge of EAR, ITAR, OFAC and customs regulations.
Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Responsibilities
Lead and support due diligence reviews for corporate transactions involving global trade compliance risks.
Identify, analyze, and communicate trade compliance risks and liabilities uncovered during diligence; develop remediation strategies.
Draft and review transaction documents, disclosure schedules, representations and warranties, and compliance-related provisions.
Monitor and advise on developments in U.S. and international trade and enforcement trends.
Partner with deal teams and outside counsel to ensure seamless execution of trade diligence workstreams.
