Job summary

Form Energy is seeking a seasoned Supply Chain professional to own the Electromechanical component category and manage strategic supplier partnerships for its iron-air battery systems. This hybrid role requires onsite work in Berkeley, CA 3+ days per week, with relocation assistance available and a fast-moving, mission-driven culture.

You will partner with Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering, and Strategic Supply to define and execute sourcing strategies, negotiate MSAs, and drive cost

Qualifications

  • 5+ years in strategic sourcing or category management in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience procuring customized electronic assemblies and control panels for battery systems.
  • Outstanding data evaluation and analysis skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with leadership-level recommendations.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally ~30%.

Role Description

Form Energy is hiring a highly skilled supply chain professional to develop and execute the sourcing strategy for battery system-level components to be used in Form’s pioneering iron-air battery systems. As part of our GSM team, you will be involved in researching markets, identifying and engaging with suppliers, developing and executing sourcing strategies, and managing key supplier relationships in collaboration with key cross-functional teams. This is a hybrid role, which will require working onsite from our office in Berkeley, CA 3+ days per week.

What you’ll do:
  • Own the Electromechanical component category, and build and maintain partnerships with our strategic suppliers to support our next-gen energy storage system scale-up; the Electromechanical category includes complex electrical control panels (i.e. UL508A style), integrated skids & custom power electronic equipment , etc.
  • Act as the primary contact with suppliers on contract and pricing negotiations, development and production lead times, escalations and resolution
  • Drive commercial cost negotiations with suppliers based on cost-models and analyses of current market conditions to ensure Form receives best-in-class pricing
  • Monitor current market conditions and technology roadmaps to proactively identify and address any supply challenges and future-proof our sourcing strategy
  • Collaborate closely with Form’s Leadership, Supply Chain, Engineering and Strategic Supply teams to define and drive execution of Form’s Systems sourcing strategy
What you’ll bring:
  • At least 5 years of strategic sourcing, category management, or similar applicable experience in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment
  • Deep expertise managing procurement for customized electronic assemblies, control panels or wire harnesses for use in in battery systems or other similar products, through distribution channels as well as directly from manufacturers
  • Outstanding data evaluation and analysis skills
  • Excellent communication skills; experience presenting clear recommendations to leadership to drive strategic and operational decision making
  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally approx. 30% of the time
  • Bachelors or Masters in Engineering, Supply Chain, Finance, Engineering, or similar discipline
  • Proven track record managing Contract Manufacturers (CMs), including overseeing materials management, production scaling, tracking supplier KPIs, and negotiating Master Services Agreements (MSAs) is a plus.
