General Motors is seeking a Senior Global Sourcing Manager to lead technology purchases—software, SaaS, infrastructure—globally. You will shape sourcing strategies, negotiate terms with IT, Security, Privacy and Legal, and present recommendations to management.
You will drive supplier governance, renewals, and cross-functional collaboration with Engineering, IT and Business Stakeholders while delivering on time and within budget.
As a Senior Global Sourcing Manager, you will be responsible for sourcing Technology purchases(Software, Software as a Service, Infrastructure, etc.) on a regional and global basis. You will be responsible for developing, negotiating and implementing sourcing strategies by working with key stakeholders on technology requirements, IT, Security, Privacy and Legal, which then requires preparing and completing sourcing recommendations to various levels of management.
Negotiatelicense models (or other technology models), competitive business cases,favorableand robustterms and conditions (including legal terms), and other items to completeafull contract package.
Use your proven competence in negotiationskills, to make recommendations to Stakeholders on terms and conditions deviations and when to uphold.
Stay up to date on the IT industry, Automotive industry, and strategicdirectionGM software and services is headed
Work effectively cross functionally,internallyand externally, while building strong relationships
Partner with IT and Business on strategy of supply base, technologies, products used, future products, technology roadmap, andviablesuppliers for technology requirements.
Work with Suppliers on governance and deliveries,includingsoundunderstanding of deadlines,requiredlead times, suppliercontractsand application types.
Active and effective participation with key stakeholders, including Engineering, IT, Business Stakeholders, Legal, and Security, among others.
Develop and manage suppliers under the guidance of quality, service, technology, and price negotiations. This includes sound understanding of deadlines,requiredlead times, suppliercontractsand application types.
Proactivelymanage annual renewal cadence and deadlines to support business continuity
Adhere to corporate purchasing and accounting policies and procedures
Develop andmaintainbenchmark data to drive a strategy.
Resolve commercial issues with suppliers and assess supplier performance
Professional interpersonal verbal and written communication skills
Utilize Global Purchasing and Supply Chainsourcingprocessto manage Sourcing packages.
5+ years relevant experience in purchasing(any internship or co-op experience will not be considered)
Ability to negotiate through complex and/or ambiguous situations, while working independently
Projectmanagement, managing multiple projects/assignments simultaneously, and prioritizing requests
Proficient communication skills
Ability to learn about items being purchasedwithout having previous knowledge of the product
Analytical skills, including the ability to do in-depth benchmarking
Appropriate interpersonal styles and communication methods to work effectively with business partners to meet mutual goals
Knowledge of computer software (MS Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Internet Research)
SAP experience or ability to learn purchasing systems
Analytical Thinking- Ability to effectively negotiate while consideringvarious factorsin decision making todeterminesolutions and their impacts. Use this to make sound recommendations.

Solid knowledge of contract law
Knowledge of procurement software
Demonstrate strong execution skills
Engineering or IT background with Software purchasing experience
Understand basic engineering documents
The salary range for this role is $124,200 – 197,800.The actual base salary a successful candidate will be offered within this range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.
