Job summary

Brimar Industries is seeking an experienced Senior Purchasing Agent to join our procurement team in New Jersey. Reporting to the Director of Strategic Sourcing, this role oversees purchase orders, coordinates international inbound shipments, and collaborates with overseas suppliers to optimize costs and delivery.

You will manage inventory and financial reporting, review invoices, and serve as a resource to the purchasing team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or related field.
• Experience with purchasing, PO management, inventory, and supplier relations.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with financial data.
• Excellent communication across departments and with external suppliers.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and inventory systems.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day purchasing activities for assigned products and vendors.
• Review requirements and place orders based on inventory and forecasts.
• Oversee purchase orders from other team members to ensure accuracy and timing.
• Monitor open POs and address delays, shortages, and backorders.
• Coordinate international inbound shipments and customs activities.
• Calculate landed costs and support financial reporting.
• Maintain supplier records, pricing, lead times, and PO data.
• Collaborate with Finance, Operations, and Purchasing to align priorities.
• Prepare monthly inventory in-transit reports.
• Assist with supplier evaluations and sourcing initiatives.
