Job summary

Airwallex is seeking a seasoned Network Engineer to design, deploy, and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN and cloud networks from its Seoul base. You will operate global connectivity, troubleshoot routers, switches, and security appliances, and work in a mixed-vendor environment to ensure high availability of our financial infrastructure.

The role requires 5+ years in production, strong BGP/VPN experience, Linux scripting, and familiarity with GCP/AWS networking.

Qualifications

• Five+ years of hands-on network engineering in production.
• Experience with BGP, VPNs, network troubleshooting and change management.
• GCP or AWS networking; GCP preferred.
• Experience with multiple networking vendors (e.g., Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista).
• Linux and scripting with Python or Bash.
• Terraform, Git or CI/CD automation is a plus.
• Strong written and verbal English communication.
• Experience in banking/fintech or regulated, high-availability environments preferred.
• Networking certifications (CCNA, JNCIA, HCIA or equivalent) preferred.
• Stable employment history with production systems ownership.

Responsibilities

• Design, deploy and maintain LAN, WAN, VPN and cloud networks.
• Operate global connectivity including leased lines and data-centre networks.
• Configure and troubleshoot routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers and cloud networking services.
• Manage mixed-vendor environments (Juniper, Cisco, Palo Alto, Aruba, Arista).
• Work with BGP, route filtering, subnetting, IPsec VPNs and security controls.
• Respond to network incidents, lead troubleshooting and post-incident reviews.
• Support network projects, upgrades and change activities with minimal disruption.
• Partner with Security, Engineering, IT and Workplace teams on network solutions.
• Maintain network diagrams, runbooks and operational procedures.
• Participate in a global on-call rotation.
