Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Ceramic Engineering, or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in glass melting, furnace systems, thermal process engineering, or related high-temperature manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of glass melting behavior, furnace operation, heat transfer, and process control.
• Proven ability to lead root-cause analysis and implement improvements.
• Experience leading cross-functional collaborations on technical projects.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally up to 50%.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical analysis and problem solving related to glass melting, furnace performance, and process stability.
• Improve melt quality, energy efficiency, throughput, yield, and reliability through optimization.
• Support furnace operation, troubleshooting, and process improvement across manufacturing environments.
• Provide technical leadership on process changes, equipment upgrades, and new technologies.
• Translate thermal and melting issues into practical actions for plant and cross-functional teams.
• Collaborate with manufacturing, R&D, quality, maintenance, and project teams to improve performance.
• Develop process guidance and best practices for melting and high-temperature systems.
• Mentor engineers and guide problem-solving approaches.
• Identify opportunities to improve furnace capability and manufacturing performance; communicate findings clearly.
