Job summary

Fortinet, Inc. is seeking a Sr. GL Accountant in Sunnyvale, CA. The role focuses on cash and general ledger accounting, month-end close, reconciliations, and government reporting. The ideal candidate has 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience and hands-on Oracle ERP expertise.

You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate financial reporting, support audits, and drive process improvements. Strong Excel skills and US GAAP knowledge are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• 8–10 years of progressive accounting experience with increasing responsibility.
• Strong cash accounting, bank reconciliations, and GL accounting experience.
• Solid knowledge of U.S. GAAP and accounting principles.
• Hands-on experience with Oracle ERP, especially Cash Management.
• Experience supporting internal and external financial audits.
• Experience leading vendor management processes.
• Experience preparing government surveys or regulatory reports.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily cash accounting activities and ensure transactions are accurately recorded in Oracle; resolve cash management transaction issues.
• Assist with month-end close including journal entries and reconciling GL accounts for assets and accruals accounts.
• Assist with quarterly flux analysis of balance sheet and income statement accounts for management review.
• Coordinate with other departments to obtain transaction information, research reconciling items, and resolve issues.
• Prepare and maintain schedules for supporting financial reports, cashflow and related SEC disclosures.
• Maintain documentation to support SOX compliance and financial audit requirements.
• Review vendor setup and maintenance and perform periodic vendor information reviews.
• Lead the resolution of vendor account setup issues, driving timely solutions and efficiency.
• Prepare and submit required government surveys, financial surveys, and statistical reports.
• Participate in financial transformation initiatives and establish best practices to improve processes.
